Salt Marsh Eco-Tour

Your guide leads a 90-minute paddle through this tidal ecosystem — along the breakwater, through the seagrasses, with stops at the dunes to explore the plants and wildlife thriving in the ebb and flow of the tides. Along the way you'll learn the history of the breakwall, a 1.5-mile rock jetty that has shaped this corner of Provincetown for over a century, and the ecology of one of the Cape's most unique and protected environments.

Hands-on, educational, and genuinely fun. Suitable for all experience levels.

We run rain or shine — overcast days bring their own kind of beauty out here. The only conditions that stop us are strong winds or lightning.

P.S. the rock jetty and dunes prevent large fish, such as sharks, from entering the marsh.

FAQ’S

  • Although the marsh is protected by the rock jetty and dunes, the tides can vary in intensity.

For a smoother and more enjoyable experience, especially for children, individuals with limited mobility, or those less athletically inclined, we recommend using a double kayak.

Paddling with two people can make it easier and safer.

  • This tour does NOT meet at our bayside location. We meet at the West End Marsh.

  • We conduct our marsh kayak tours unless weather conditions pose safety concerns. Unsafe conditions may include heavy rain, strong winds, or lightning. It's an adventure of sorts every time, but safety is our top priority.
